Pearl St, Albany. The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:00pm. Screening begins at 6:30pm followed by a “surrealist awkshun,” that will feature the auctioning of several props and costumes from the film. There will be lite refreshments and a cash bar.
According to Maggie Mancinelli-Cahill, Capital Rep’s Producing Artistic Director, “We are blessed in the Capital Region with an abundance of talent in every area of the arts. We have a very busy schedule with more than 250 regular Capital Rep performances every year, but we are always happy to provide our space to community groups whenever we can. Adding to the pleasure is the fact that filmmaker Zachary Rosenau is one of our own. Attendees probably will recognize Zack as a member of our Box Office team.”
Composed of two 12-minute segments fashioned after the "two-reeler" comedies of the 1920s, PIPE DOWN! is an original HD-film suitable for all ages. Filmmaker/director Zach Rosenau describes the show as, “a comic yarn that follows “Tip” and “Hurl”, two snow-shovelers in Skunnahaftaby, NY, whose lazy spring day quickly becomes entangled in the town's political underworld of hired-plumbing, where an incompetent ruffian is pitted against an indignant Pollyanna.” Faced with the need to rescue this damsel in distress, Tip and Hurl find an ingenious way to root out the culprit and save the day. The funny solution involves hammers, shovels, a lot of racket and real plumber’s helpers.
Local actors and entrepreneurs, Gary Arzberger and Nick Lyman co-produced and also star as Tip and Hurl. Other members of the cast include Stefan Boltz, Dana Goodknight, John Pruden, Maria Maurin. Beverly Skoll and B.A.N. as “the cop.”
