Event Descriptions:

From Stage to Film- Frosted Lens and Poorductions and NEXT ACT! combine! Come to a screening of BROKEN LILLIES by Paige Zubel, as well as the short 10-minute stage play it started out as, IN FULL BLOOM, when it was read in the 2017 Summit.

First 15: Be a Literary Manager- Do you have what it takes to be a literary manager? Find out as you hear ten minutes of five submissions read aloud and then YOU have to vote yes or no to the question all literary managers must answer: do you want to read the full script?

Young Adult Playwright Event- Listen as we spotlight three short new plays written by young adults! This new event is the second designed specifically for young aspiring playwrights looking to hone their skills – and hearing ones play aloud, and how it resonates with an audience, is a very important part of the process!

Second Look- This popular event is a way for theREP – and audiences – to get a second look at a play we’ve experienced before. While it didn’t quite make it into the top 2 the year it was originally submitted, we just can’t get it out of our mind…THE LUCKIEST PEOPLE by Meridith Freidman.

New Voices: Young Playwright Contest- Come hear the top 10 scripts from SOPA’s Young Playwright Contest! This contest, for local playwrights ends with the Top 5 receiving a full production on theREP’s stage this summer – come and vote for your top 5!

Synopsis Clinic- Writing a short and effective synopsis of ones play is a must for playwrights around the globe! Get tips from Dramatist Guild Member, Professor of Playwriting at Cornell University, and Professional Playwright Aoise Stratford!

2 Full Script Readings HERE BE DRAGONS by Rachel Lynett and THE CALM BEFORE by Deborah Yarchun – Hear the full scripts of the top two plays submitted (out of 400+) read aloud, provide your feedback for the playwrights, and be a part of the selection process for which one of these two plays might be provided a world premiere production at theREP.
